Yuval Noah Harari through the book Sapiens played an important part for me to understand the perspectives of societies and human civilisation.
I have been trying to understand societies and human civilisation on its direction to reconcile my thoughts, beliefs and know what is right and not and what can be expected in my lifetime.
I broadly see three different versions of it playing it out:
The Bhutan model: Living well on basics, everyone is happy
The USA model: High profits without purpose, with top 1% extremely happy at the cost of the rest 99%
The China model: Transformational (with their centralised decision making and application of technologies in different fields of day to day living, planned for a time when there are going to be less people going ahead). Not sure, how many people are happy in this model.
The others have no clear path that I see, but are trying multiple of these paths with limited successes.
